VAXXERS twin releases

Today North Carolina’s Alex RIggs aka VAXXERS releases two inspired experimental albums, one soothing and centering; the other more avant-garde; both excellent.

VAXXERS is the long running experimental project of Durham, NC musician Alex Riggs. Anything that isn’t singer-songwritery is VAXXERS. VAXXERS has released many albums of noise, ambient, electropop, loop-based music, folk, soundtrack work, and other things.

The two new albums by VAXXERS, released on September 2nd, 2022, are as described; 

UN- is a delve into piano jazz and post rock, inspired by Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Lonnie Holley, Tortoise, and Terry Allen, UN- is a suite of 8 songs recorded in the Horse Complex Studio in Durham, NC. UN- features photography by Colin Spacetwinks. UN- is very good.

Walking Through Clear Water In A Pool Painted Black is a “intrusive ambient” record, recorded one night in the Spring of 2022. It was recorded with the Critter and Guitari Septavox synthesizer and some looping pedals. It was named after the memoir of the same name by John Waters Dreamlander Cookie Mueller. It features photography by Colin Spacetwinks. It is also very good.

NOTES ON PRIVATE AND PUBLIC LISTENING:
These albums were recorded with their intended formats in mind, CD for UN, tape for WTCW. They were recorded close together and are therefore two halves of a whole experience. The intended playing order is as follows:

1. SIDE ONE of WTCW

2. UN- in its entirety3. SIDE TWO of WTCW
