Sacred Bones announces Songs for Tres
On the birthday of the late Tres Warren, Sacred Bones has announced a tribute record of songs by Tres’s bandmates in Psychic Ills, collaborators, and other special guests.
Tres passed in March of 2020. Unable to gather to mourn properly, the other constant half of Psychic Ills, and Tres’s musical other half Elizabeth Hart asked Adam Amram, Jon Catfish DeLorme and Brent Cordero, who’d been playing with Psychic Ills since their latest full-length release (the perfect Inside Journey Out, released in 2016) to create a loving tribute to their dearly missed brother.
Hart, Amram, and DeLorme take turns singing lead vocals while Brent plays guitar and organ. Hart produced the album along with Psychic Ills sound engineer Iván Diaz Mathé. As the project progressed, many other former collaborators and contributors expressed the desire to pop in and contribute to Songs for Tres.
The album consists of five originals and four cover songs, the latter chosen for their connection to memories of Tres. Today Hart shares “I’ll Walk With You,” written on the day of Warrens’ passing, featuring Hope Sandoval (who added her unmistakable sensual vocals to “I Don’t Mind” which is one of the greatest songs of all time.
A portion of all proceeds will be donated to: RAICES.
The full album is out on November 5th. Pre-order it on Bandcamp.
