Psychedelic Cowboy : Playlist

It’s been a minute. Lots of great stuff coming up – new Neil Young next week, Bob Dylan, later in the summer that Zephaniah OHora and Kenny Roby. Missin’ live shows something bad and hoping all our artist friends are staying afloat. I hope people take this time to buy and deeply listen to records.

One of my many quarantine projects has been watching music documentaries and Sir Doug and the Genuine Texas Cosmic Groove was one of the best I’ve seen. I also highly recommend the Laurel Canyon two-parter on Epix, Remember My Name, Fallen Angel, The Sound of my Voice and Be Here to Love Me.

I made this playlist a few months ago but guess I didn’t post it yet. I made it after having a dream that Doug Sahm was singing to me and roller skating around in a circle.

Anyway, my favorite thing from the Sahm doc was when Sir Doug sits in at a local radio station and pronounces, “This is Doug Sahm and this is KOKE FM, the only place you’ll hear cosmic cowboys, West-Coast-freaky cowboys, and of course our own Austin cowboys, of which there are more all the time!” That’s us!
