Emily Zuzik – Piscean Planetary Phases : Playlist

Americana singer and songwriter Emily Zuzik had a birthday last week and to celebrate, she made us this great playlist of other Piscean musicians. The result is a dreamy flow of songs by artists who live in their own world just a bit, and through their music, allow us to visit.

Emily is an LA-based Americana singer and songwriter. Her latest album, 2020’s Torch & Trouble, was produced by Ted Russell Kamp, and sounds very Sheryl Crowe with hints of both modern pop and classic country. Check out her Bandcamp to see the rest of her impressive discography.

On the mix, Emily says:

I was thinking about Pisces as I celebrated another turn on the planet and besides some greats who I share a birth date with, I wasn’t sure who else fit the bill. I began researching Pisces musicians, and there were quite a few I loved. This should not have surprised me as the sign Pisces is the last in the astrological calendar and a sign that is often known for being empathetic, generous, and in touch with their emotions. Pisces are known as the most artistic of all zodiac signs, and they frequently express their creativity in everyday life. They have strong imaginations, and their reputation as dreamers can help them when they pursue hobbies such as art, music, and writing. I have always related to the dreamer, often melancholy, Romantic side of the sign and tried to find songs that capture that spirit in other Pisces musicians.
