Daytime Moon – “Aardvark”

Pleased to share the second single from Daytime Moon’s instrumental ambient guitar album Chrysanthemum. “Aardvark” is a spacey, droning experiment in drop A tuning (hence the name) on a Les Paul Jr. Brent says this is his favorite on the album and the most fun to record.  Chrysanthemum is out this Friday!

Chrysanthemum is a bouquet of contemplative, intimate guitar soli compositions from Morongo Basin locals Daytime Moon.

Daytime Moon was formed by prolific songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and Mojave Desert native Brent Simpson in 2012. Brent has released a number of albums spanning a wide range of genres with a variety of lineups. This is his first solo instrumental release and it will be available exclusively on Bandcamp. He used a variety of tunings, guitars, and strings on each song and recorded the album at home while studying new methods and techniques. It’s a departure from Daytime Moon’s usual sound, a full-band frenzy of effect pedals, utilizing instruments ranging from glockenspiel to banjolele. Chrysanthemum is a meditative guitar study with a rich, organic warmth.

Pre-order Chrysanthemum on Bandcamp.
