“There’s this Jessica Pratt lyric I’ve been thinking about a lot recently, “reflections of your memory in the window”. It was a weird thing releasing music during COVID, obviously – I’m realizing how much I define periods of life around music, the writing cycle, the recording cycle, the release cycle, and this strange perpetual present we’re in means that these things sort of blur together. This mix captures that feeling a little bit, the ways Solid Love was a quietly joyous celebration of community, and then the subsequent retreat and solitude, inside looking out at the world through foggy windows.
