AC Sapphire – “Stick And Poke Tattoo”

Today the effervescent songwriter and musician AC Sapphire shares her latest single “Stick and Poke Tattoo”. Her 2020 release Omni Present, produced by Matt Adams of the Blank Tapes, was a Petal Motel favorite and a desert road trip staple. Sure to add to this same soundtrack is the upcoming Desert Car, out July 16th on American Standard Time Records.

AC has a nomadic heart and moved from street performing on the streets of Philadelphia with her family at an early age to living in Joshua Tree and becoming part of the musical community here ,driving what would become Desert Car. She most recently movevd to Portland “for love” and continued her quest for collaborative community, which proved fruitful with a backing all-women band.

“Stick And Poke Tattoo” is about the permanence of memory, simple pleasures, distance, and time. AC the poet, guitar shredder, and band leader is often inspired by people’s simple rituals, and the uniqueness, and quirks about those that bring joy. “Stick And Poke Tattoo” is a song as romantic as it is rocking, at once epic and effortless, building into a crescendo of harmonies and waves of sound.
