decker. – In Outer Space & DNA
Sedona’s musical mystic decker. invites you to enter the vortex with the latest video for his new single, “In Outer Space & DNA” exploring the cosmic symbiosis between the macro and the micro, sacred geometry, and more. It’s no wonder this dweller atop electromagnetic and leyline convergences considers his music “psychedelic desert rock.”
“Here we are in this great unveiling,” says Brandon Decker. “It’s like terminal velocity in so many ways. The world is in chaos and we are all feeling it; the division brought on by politics, the pandemic and its many implications, these systems and structures are so far gone and it can seem so dark and difficult to maintain our humanity. We’ve all got to find a way to rise above what we’re bombarded with on the news and social media everyday.”
“I’ve always been fascinated by the fact that the microscopic images of the human cell and the photos of the deepest reaches of the cosmos are so similar, basically identical,” continues Decker. “Such as to say, the smallest fragment of our makeup is the same as the greatest reaches of the macro. It’s a scary thought and, at the same time, relieving to know we’re just part of the one.”
‘In Outer Space & DNA’ is a call to wonder over the magical complexity and intricate detail of the infinite. I hope that it serves as an impetus to ground into something more comforting and substantial than the fleeting narratives that can be so enticing yet destructive. We are all part of one perfect, timeless, all-encompassing universe.
We worked on this video with our frequent collaborator, filmmaker Matty Steinkamp, and featured Asian American artist and activist Shela Yu. We wanted to present some shamanic and psychedelic imagery that captured visually the idea of the cosmos within and without.
Following decker.’s 2018 release, Born to Wake Up, he is currently working on his next full-length studio album planned for 2022 release. “In Outer Space & DNA” is released by Royal Potato Family and streaming on all platforms today.
